I am SO excited today because I am going to help and show you how to start a WordPress blog on Bluehost!
First of all, if you don’t know who I am, my name is Ling, and starting my blog has changed my life!
I started my very first blog, Finsavvy Panda, a small personal finance blog where I teach my readers how to save money, make extra money, and achieve financial independence.
Before I started my blog, I actually didn’t really know what “blogging” was and this term was a little foreign, and it sounded strange to me.
Blogging was so new to me and during that time, I had no single clue on how it works. I was just told that with a low initial investment, starting a blog has the potential to earn a great amount of income.
I was hooked, got really excited about the idea, and looked into how bloggers get paid and make money with their blog posts.
After starting my blog, and learning how to get traffic, connect with readers, and monetize a website, I earned my first $5,000 per month within a year.
Today, I’m so glad and feel very fortunate that I started my blog with Bluehost as a beginner with NO prior knowledge about blogging, and NO technical, writing, or coding experience!
Starting my blog with a self-hosted Bluehost plan has changed my life! If I didn’t go self-hosted, I wouldn’t have been able to quit the job I disliked and my blog income wouldn’t have taken off to over $20,000 every month today!
Here are some quick screenshots of my blog earnings when I was still a complete beginner and new to this world:
$40,102.36 from just ONE source of income!
$2,455.64 from another source – one month of display advertising earnings!
$1,385.70 from another source of monthly earnings!
$2,015.20 from another source!
I am very happy with Bluehost because my blog has always been up and running in great shape! And, in this tutorial, I am going to show you how to start your blog using Bluehost too.
Don’t forget to save this blog post here on Pinterest so you can refer back to this detailed tutorial page on how to start your very first blog and make money!
I also offer my exclusive FREE 7-day email course to teach total beginners like you how to start your blog from scratch. I show you the EXACT steps I took to start a blog all the way to building traffic and earning a full-time income with NO tech and NO writing experience.
My e-mail course has helped thousands of people start a profitable blog and I would love to help you too. Sign up below to learn how!
Bluehost Blog Hosting Plans
In this section, I am going to go through Bluehost’s basic web hosting plans for beginners.
There are 3 options you can choose within the Bluehost basic plan – the 12, 24, or 36-month plan.
Whenever you’re ready, you can use this exclusive page for Finsavvy Panda readers to get 60% off with Bluehost and follow the step by step instructions below to get started – this can be found in the section, “How To Start A WordPress Blog On Bluehost.”
All of these plans are great deals and affordable for any beginner, and whichever plan you decide to choose will depend on your goals.
I personally started two of my blogs with Bluehost’s basic plan to get the best value and biggest savings!
I will go through these different plans in more detail in a bit.
But let me first tell you why you should start a WordPress blog with Bluehost:
- It’s powered by WordPress and any beginner (who has no experience with building a blog) will find it easy to use the platform
- There are no tech or coding skills required (I am NOT techy at all, and honestly, if technical or coding skills were required, I would have not started any of my blogs)
- It’s the #1 recommended web hosting company by WordPress
- Bluehost offers 24/7 through online support chat, phone, or e-mail (I use these free support services all the time whenever I need help with something)
- You’ll have a self-hosted blog meaning you actually own your own website (this is very different compared to the free ones you can sign up for)
What Does A “Self-Hosted Blog” Mean?
If you are wondering what a “self-hosted blog” is, in simple terms, it means that you are the owner of your website. Yes, you are the boss!
This is different from a “free” blog like the ones on the Blogger platform where you don’t actually own your blog. So, whatever you write on those free blogs, they can actually take down your content without giving you any prior notice.
It’s always best to invest a small amount of money in a self-hosted blog Bluehost because for one, you want to own your website. Why wouldn’t you want to be the owner and have full control for such a low price?
Secondly, if your intention is to make money with your blog, then it is best to go self-hosted because advertisers, affiliates, and companies you want to partner up with will take you seriously when you are the owner of your blog.
Again, I am so happy that I started my blog with Bluehost because if it weren’t for going self-hosted, I wouldn’t have been able to quit my job and earn a full-time income from home!
I honestly don’t know anyone who is actually earning an income using a free blog.
Here are just one of many e-mails I received from a reader (with her permission to post this) who regrets not signing up for a self-hosted blog right from the beginning. Now she also has to go through the hassle of transferring her content over, which is not a simple task:
Hey Ling, I have a blog on Blogger where I write about my travels and experience in Asia. I applied for Google Adsense because I want to start making money but they replied with some issues and now I think I should have listened to you several months back communicating with you when you suggested me to go with a paid domain like Bluehost… I don’t know if you remember me. I just wish I listened to your words, but I will now go and get a Bluehost plan for my blog. The problem is now I have to next find out how to move my blog posts and files over and I don’t know what to do. Please tell me how I can do this? – Amaya
As you can see, she waited several months to experience this mistake of not going self-hosted right off the bat. On top of that, she also needs to spend the time to figure out how to transfer her blog posts over.
So, here is a quick summary of why you should start a self-hosted blog (and NOT a free one).
- Bluehost is the #1 recommended web hosting company for total beginners and you don’t need any technical or coding experience to start.
- Time will be wasted trying to build a free blog and then realize later that you get rejected by advertising, affiliates, and companies you want to partner with.
- It will be inconvenient and a hassle to transfer your work over from the free platform to your self-hosted WordPress.
- You may lose your work if the free website decides to take down your content, plus you won’t get any prior notice.
- You will be the owner of your own blog.
- Going self-hosted is a must if you are serious about making money with your blog.
How To Start A WordPress Blog On Bluehost
Now that you know it is essential to go self-hosted, and NOT use a free blogging platform, especially when your intention is to monetize your blog, I am going to go through the different basic Bluehost plans with you where you can start your blog (the right way) for as low as $2.95 per month.
Again, the special page here will lead you to Bluehost’s 60% off regular price hosting plans – this is exclusive for Finsavvy Panda and Blog Savvy Panda readers. You’ll also get a FREE domain name, which is valued at $15 when you start your blog here.
If you ever have any questions about starting your blog or the steps in this tutorial, please send me an e-mail at ling@finsavvypanda.com. I am very excited for you to start your blog and I want to see you make progress with your blog, so I will answer any questions you have. 😊
Now, let’s get started and guide you through this easy tutorial.
Step 1: Choose the Bluehost basic package
If you are a beginner who wants to start a blog with just one website (and yes, I recommend only one website if you are new to this), you can select the “basic” package. This is the exact same package I personally chose when I started my blog.
You can ignore the “plus” and “choice plus” because you don’t need those unless you’re planning to start more than one blog, which again, I don’t recommend for a beginner.
You can always upgrade later when you feel like you want some extra features.
I personally did not go for any extra features until I started earning over $8,000 per month with my blog.
Step 2: Choose Your Domain Name
Next, choose your domain name (AKA your blog name).
If you haven’t decided on your domain or blog name yet, you can click on “I’ll create my domain name later” based on the screenshot below.
The great thing with this option is you can get started immediately and build your blog without having to decide on a domain name yet.
And yes, the domain name is free at $0 when you decide to host your blog using Bluehost! Along with the 60% off hosting, this is a $15 value that you get for free when you use this page to start your blog!
Step 3: Create Your Account
In this step, you are going to create your account by filling in your account information.
All you have to do is fill out your first and last name. You don’t have to fill in a business name if you don’t have one yet (this is optional).
Be sure to select the country you live in along with your address, phone number and email.
Step 4: Package Information
Hang in there because you are almost done!
Now, select your account plan.
It could be the 12, 24, or 36-month plan. These are all paid upfront in the form of a one-time payment.
I personally recommend the 12-month plan because as mentioned, you don’t have to spend a lot of money upfront to try out blogging. You can test the waters and see how you like it within your first year!
Whichever plan you decide to choose will depend on your goals and your situation. These are still very great prices and are a low-price and great investment for beginners who want to try out blogging and potentially earn a great income.
Note that depending on where you reside in your country, the pricing in your currency will be automatically converted based on the current exchange rate. If you live in countries like Canada, the U.K., Australia, or anywhere in Europe, you’ll see your own currency. But if you reside in other countries not listed here, you should see this in terms of US Dollars.
Bluehost 12-Month Blog Price:
As you can see, if you choose the 12-month plan, your investment for the first year would be only $36 and that includes the free domain name, which makes starting your blog very cheap and affordable!
Who is the 12-month package right for?
I have many readers who go for this package because they want to try out blogging for one year to test out the waters without spending a lot of money upfront. It’s only $36 for the entire year to get started!
So, the great thing is you will pay a lower upfront amount (and you’ll save 60% off the regular pricing today) with the 12-month plan.
Step 5: Package Extras
Referring to the same screenshot above again, in the “Package Extras” section, you’ll see options like the following:
- Codeguard Basic
- Bluehost SEO Tools Start
- SiteLock Security Essential
You don’t need any of these extras. You can simply ignore them for now and make sure you uncheck or clear those checkboxes so you don’t get charged for extras. There’s no need to pay extra especially when you’re a beginner. Plus, you can also change these options later down the road if you decide you want extra features.
Step 6: Payment Information
The final step is making your investment in the plan you selected.
You can choose to pay by credit card or other payment options like PayPal.
If you don’t have or use a credit card, you have the option to pay with PayPal by clicking on “see more payment options”. It is free to sign up for a PayPal account.
Step 7: Choose your password
Next, choose a password for your account, confirm it, and then log in.
Make sure you write down your password on a sheet of paper so you don’t forget!
Step 8: Install WordPress Powered By Bluehost
You’re almost done and this is the fun part because you’re just minutes away from starting your blog!
Now that you’ve purchased your hosting plan that comes with a free domain name, the final step is to install WordPress!
Bluehost makes this super easy with their 1-click WordPress Installation button.
Once you’ve clicked it, wait until WordPress is installed.
Bluehost will ask you to choose a theme, which you can play around with now or later. There are a lot of both free and paid pre-made templates for you to choose from so time your time to browse around and select the one you feel fits your personality.
Because you are a beginner, you don’t need to purchase a paid theme yet. I recommend testing the waters and play around with the free pre-made themes before you invest your money into a more premium theme.
It’s just easier when you get the hang of this before you jump to the next level.
Step 9: Start Building Your Blog
Now that you’ve selected the theme you want, you can select “Start Building.”
Next, Bluehost will ask: “What kind of site can we help you set up?”
You can choose either “Business” or “Personal.” It doesn’t really matter which one you select.
Going forward, you can log in to your WordPress dashboard and learn at your own pace.

Additional Blogging Resources for Beginners
I also highly recommend you browsing around and checking out these helpful articles in this archive packed with valuable information to help beginners like you start your blog.
If you ever want a one-stop-shop with simple step by step instructions (with screenshots and images) on EXACTLY where to go and what to do after starting a WordPress blog on Bluehost, I recommend this really affordable e-book, The Treasure Map To Blogging Success in Just 30 Days, to avoid confusion and overwhelm. This is a profitable roadmap to help beginners like you build a solid and successful foundation before moving on and diving deep into learning traffic and monetization strategies.
You can also check out here how much does it really cost to start a blog to give you guidance, and honesty, of what to expect as a brand-new blogger. This is the path I personally took to see my income grow to over $20,000 per month!
I have many students who went through The Treasure Map To Blogging Success in Just 30 Days ebook and they were able to quickly set up and launch their blogs the correct way (yes, there is a correct way) and avoid silly mistakes that most beginners commonly make. They were able to do this much faster than the average person who has no roadmap or guidance. This is honestly the guide I wish I had when I first started my blog because it would’ve saved me SO much time, money, and hassle!
I hope you found this blog post helpful in starting your WordPress with Bluehost!
Happy Blogging!
Jessica
I haven’t decided yet what I want to write about. I tried to think of some ideas last night. I am currently working as a property manager. I thought maybe doing some rental information would be super helpful for people. But I also love plants. So that was another thing I could do. I have also considered doing something about organization. I have a lot of friends that enjoy it when I come over and help them organize and delutter their lives. I figured I would try and start writing some actual blogs out and see which ones I have the most information based to go off of. Thank you some much for all your information!
It’s been so helpful.
Ling
Hey Jessica
That’s cool that you’re a property manager! Managing properties isn’t an easy task so kudos to you!!
If your blog or website is about rental information, you can write blog posts about decluttering and organizing giving your tips/experience. Tie this back to rental properties and you could talk about how a more organized and clean place can ask for higher rent price when you are giving tips to property managers, owners, or landlords.
That is an example of how you can use one of your interests to write blog posts that align back to your skill and interests.
Another idea is you can also talk about staging a home for sale or rent if this is something that sparks joy or interest – you could easily tie this back to home decor tips too when you are listing the property.
Basically, you can think about anything that ties back to your blog about rental properties.
I hope this helps you get started with your blog!! 🙂
Moneishaa
Hi there
My name is Moneishaa and I’m from Malaysia
Im 21 years old and I’m a college student. I really want to start a blog to earn some money on the side to be able to hopefully settle my student debt. However, I do have a few questions if that’s okay before starting.
I’m thinking of starting a personal development, mindfulness and positivity blog. I was wondering if that’s a profitable niche. I did have a WordPress blog very long ago and I don’t think I did it right so it was not profitable and I was also kind of impatient. If I do dive into the blogging field is it definitely possible to make money from it? I’m thinking of expanding into Pinterest eventually but how do I know when is the right time?
Ling
Hi Moneishaa
Starting a personal development, mindfulness, and positivity blog is a great idea!
To be honest, you can make almost any blog niche profitable. It all depends on your monetization strategy, how you deliver your message and whether you’re able to serve your readers.
When you are a beginner, I highly recommend you starting your blog, writing great content for your readers and learning how to get traffic along with monetizing your blog by using display ads. This is a great start and it will give you the experience to understand who your main target audience is when you have traffic. That way, you can tailor your content and help a specific audience who is willing to pay for your services and/or products.
So in summary, yes it is possible to monetize your type of blog.
The first step is always starting your blog (you can use this tutorial post here and follow the steps to register your blog and domain name), and building a solid foundation before you look into traffic and monetizing strategies. This is what I teach in my e-book, so once you start your blog, you can always refer to this resource to help you build a solid blog.
https://www.finsavvypanda.com/blogging-success-ebook/
And usually, depending on your time schedule, it will take at least a month for you to build a solid foundation for your blog before learning how to drive traffic using resources like Pinterest.
Let me know if you have any questions! I’m happy to help! 🙂
Moneishaa
So it’s best for me to start my blog first and build a solid foundation and then move on to driving traffic in and monetising my blog?
Also is it possible to drive traffic and monetise for free or are there additional payments for that? I don’t mind taking my time to learn and grow.
Ling
Hi Moneishaa,
Yes that is correct.
You can absolutely drive 100% free organic traffic back to your blog by learning Google SEO and Pinterest strategies but that comes after you’ve setup your blog with a good foundation. It’s NOT needed to pay for ads for your site.
I highly recommend investing in at least one traffic course that teaches you how do this once you reach this point. They will teach you how to get free organic traffic.
Please keep in mind that it is very important to invest in yourself to build a successful blog.
I get many readers asking me is it possible to make money blogging without spending a single dime and my answer is no.
I really do stress the importance of investing in yourself and spending money on what will help you grow and thrive. The good thing is it can be done affordably at the beginning when you’re new to the blogging world. I have a post on how beginners can start a successful blog on a budget:
https://www.blogsavvypanda.com/how-much-does-it-cost-to-start-a-blog/
And no matter which stage you’re at in your blogging journey, you’ll always be taking your time to learn and grow! 🌟
Let me know if this advice helps! 🙂
Fatihah
Hi Ling,
Just for your information I still haven’t started my blog yet, I’m still stuck and don’t know where to start. 😣
I really want to earn income from blogging and dream to be a full-time blogger.
This is so personal to me but I wanted to share it with you, I really hate my 8.30- 5.30 job, I’m from Malaysia btw, and working at University as Facilitator/ Admin really worn me out
and because of the pandemic we have to conduct online learning class and programs for students, to make it even worse we have to assist students for the talk until 12am,
like every day even on weekends It’s CRAZY. I don’t have time with my family even though I was at home! And I have to visit the doctor because of stress, lack of sleep and I am so tired.
I am so thankful for reading your blog. It gives me hope, knowledge and it helps me to not give up on something I like.
I have so many things in mind, but I feel so lost. I want my content to be genuine and it’s me.
For me art and craft DIY suit me better, I love art so much it is part of my life, I just do it just for hobby.
FYI I’m 30 and sometimes I feel like I’m too old to start something that I love at this age 😁
I really need your advice and opinion on this, is it possible for me to start my blog from scratch about things that I love for example my arts, tutorials, etc?
Thank you.
Ling
Hi Fatihah!
It is so nice to meet you and hear from you and I’m happy to hear that you are thankful for reading my blog! 💕
I’m sorry to hear what you were going through! I know it must be challenging and CRAZY – I totally feel you! I am very hopeful that things will become better once you start your blog and have something positive to look forward to!
Your topic idea on arts and crafts is an excellent choice! I always recommend my readers to choose the topic that they enjoy and love doing as a hobby because it just makes spending your time on it more enjoyable and it won’t feel like work at all! Plus, the arts and crafts niche does really well especially on platforms like Pinterest. SO many Pinners and readers go there to look for ALL sorts of crafting ideas and tutorials (literally anything you can imagine) – they get a TON of pageviews and traffic, which you are able to monetize as long as you have a good strategy.
You are definitely NOT too old to start something like this from scratch. I know many people in all age ranges that start a blog from scratch and are able to make money on what they love doing. As long as you take your blog seriously and put in the time + effort to learn, I am highly confident that you’re going to make it turn into a success!
I hope this encourages you to get started! Feel free to let me know once you use this tutorial page to start and register your blog. Also, let me know your progress and how it’s doing! 🙂
Natalie
Hi Ling
Your information is really helpful and you are very efficient. I have a few passions I love in life! That’s me. In reading your material I am leaning towards blogging about helping people “Declutter” their living space. Getting rid of unnecessary things, organizing, and creating good space. I want to make money from blogging. I feel this topic solves a problem. I love organizing and creating a good space. What are your thoughts on the type of blogging?
Cheers!
Natalie
Ling
Hi Natalie
Organizing, decluttering, and creating a good space is an excellent topic idea! This is a HUGE problem for so many people who own a lot of stuff and I’m extremely confident that your readers are going to find your tips and advice helpful in creating a peaceful space at home! You could also blog about creating “feng shui” at home if that’s something you’re into!
You can definitely make money blogging about this niche as long as you have a solid monetizing strategy on your page. I see many blogs in this space do really well! Here are 5 blog post ideas that will help you get started:
– X Kitchen Organization Ideas You Haven’t Thought About
– X Bedroom Organization Ideas That are Beyond Genius
– X Kitchen Cabinet Organization Ideas That Will Eliminate Overwhelm
– X Amazing Organization Ideas For A Small {Insert room, e.g. Kitchen, Bedroom, Living Room, Home Office Space, etc.}
– X Things You’re Doing That’s Making Your Home Look Cluttered
I hope this helps! 🙂
Sheba
Hey Ling, I’m really excited to learn more about starting my blog and I really want to earn as I’m a college student. But I’m exactly sure about what to write and how to write things. I do have a lot of stuff to write and things that I like but I don’t know if I can write random topics or if I should stick to one kind of content. And also on how to write a blog post. Would be great if you could help. If it’s possible I would also like to know how to start a website on what kind of things I can start a website on.
Ling
Hey Sheba
I’m really excited for you to start your blog too!
I actually have a blog post here about what to blog about, so you can get started here:
https://www.blogsavvypanda.com/what-to-blog-about/
It also talks about writing various topics vs sticking to one kind of topic.
I also have a start a blog checklist here that you can follow to get started from scratch:
https://www.blogsavvypanda.com/starting-a-blog-checklist/
I hope this helps!
Claudia
Hi Ling!
Hope you are well. I’ve asked you many questions regarding blogging before and with your help, I’m finally at a point where I want to start my blog because I have decided on a niche that I want to talk about. Like you’ve mentioned I’m also stuck at the point where I don’t know how to get started.
I have a question for you which I hope you can help me with.
I want to blog about food and recipes because cooking is very therapeutic to me. But since I have a degree in psychology I also want to blog about personal care and mental wellness but then I’m also a big fashion lover and get so excited about anything fashion.
I would like to have separate blogs for all three of these niches. What would you suggest I do or how many separate blogs can one person possibly manage without getting overworked or overwhelmed.
Hope to hear from you soon
Claudia
Ling
Hi Claudia
You do have A LOT of different topics listed there! I usually recommend sticking to a few where you can make them relate or tie back to each other. I have a post here that talks about that, so I recommend going through it for more guidance and examples:
https://www.blogsavvypanda.com/what-to-blog-about/
I don’t recommend beginners with no experience to creating more than 1 blog as that may be overwhelming. Always start off with 1 and learn as much as you can, and once that starts generating income on auto-pilot, you can move onto creating a second blog.
If you really can’t narrow down your focus and you really want to talk about a lot of things, then start off with a blog about lifestyle. That way, you have the freedom to blog about anything you want and it will give you the experience to discover what you like more and what your audience may be more interested to hear from you. Again, I recommend you checking out my blog post I posted above.
I hope this helps!
Tidy
Hi
I didn’t start my blog yet. I’m from France. I’m wondering if I can use this website for my blog even if I’m writing my content in French. Do French viewers will still access to my blog if I use Bluehost?
Honestly, I don’t really know how to start my blog. I want to make things right. I want to write about so many things and few things at the same time. I’m gonna talk about myself and my ideas a bit, maybe it’ll help you to get to know me better.
I love music, not a fan of French songs, I kinda prefer the Asian and American styles such as Asian songs, American pop, and RnB.
I know I could write a lot about music. I like reading, I started a year ago so I’m a beginner. I really enjoy reading but I don’t think I read enough books to even write about it.
I love watching series so much that I could rank them and comment on them objectively.
I love cooking, I often do freestyle when I cook but believe me or not, it tastes good every time.
I was thinking to write about something I was good at on a blog. And I was like, maybe I should start a blog by sharing my recipes. Maybe I could add songs to my post and share my music taste at the same time.
I wanna start my blog, but I don’t know how to start. I don’t know how to make people read it, how to get views. I hope you understood what I said, I tried my best but as a French person, I’m not sure that everything here is Grammarly correct and understandable. I have so many questions, but I’m gonna wait for you to respond.
Take all the time you need.
Ling
Hey!
Yes, you can still write in French with your blog. I’ve had readers who started blogs in their own language and they were able to set it up without any problem.
Your viewers should be able to find you not based on the hosting company you use, but by learning traffic strategies like Google, Pinterest, IG, and other forms of social media to get your website in front of your readers.
My suggestion is to not scatter yourself too much all over the place, and if you do, try to make those topics relate to each other or tie them back whenever you can. I have a blog post here on how to find your niche and what to blog about that you’ll find helpful:
https://www.blogsavvypanda.com/what-to-blog-about/
I also have an affordable ebook, The Treasure Map To Blogging Success in 30 Days, here that will guide you and help you get started once you’ve registered for your blog:
https://www.finsavvypanda.com/blogging-success-ebook/
I answer a ton of questions in there and give guidance to total beginners who are new to the blogging world! Many of my readers have gone through it and found it very helpful with starting and building their blogs.
Keep in mind that there are various stages to starting your blog. I also break down those stages and how much it costs to start a blog on a budget for beginners:
https://www.blogsavvypanda.com/how-much-does-it-cost-to-start-a-blog/
I hope this helps! 🙂
Rani
Hi Ling! I’m Rani.
I’m from India so can I get the discount with Bluehost?
I’m asking because I’m not sure…
Second Question: I’ve decided my blog name as “JELLYFISH DIARY“. What do you think?
I was just asking for confirmation
Hope to hear back from you. BYE BYE for now. 😊
Ling
Hi Rani
Yes, you can start your blog with the special discount when you use any of the Bluehost links on this tutorial page – It is applicable for any country!
Here is the 60% discount link here for your convenience.
I think your domain name sounds cute! I actually have a post here that talks more in detail on how to determine your blog name:
https://www.blogsavvypanda.com/how-to-choose-a-domain-name-for-your-blog/
I’ve seen a lot of people with different names for their blogs and to be honest, your domain name isn’t going to make or break your blog. It all depends on your strategy and what type of content you write plus whether if it’s helpful for your readers.
So, if you like “jellyfish diary, by all means, go for it! But again, I do highly recommend reading the article for more information about domain name.
Let me know if you have any questions about starting your blog. I am happy to help! 🙂
Krysten
I have started to create my website on Blue Host but I’m confused with how to insert my first blog. I’m a bit confused between Blue Host and WordPress. From my understanding, Blue Host is the website that holds all of my content, and wordpress helps you create the content to then transfer it to Bluehost? Can you clarify this for me? I somehow navigated to wordpress and it asked me to pick a theme, create a domain name, and select a payment plan. I thought I did all of that through Blue Host and thought wordpress was free to use when you purchased Blue Host. Looking for some guidance here.
Ling
Hi Krysten,
Bluehost is the hosting company that stores all your website’s content on files on their servers. WordPress dot org (NOT WordPress dot com) is a website building software that allows you to write your blog posts and customize the appearance of your blog. And yes, WordPress dot org is free to use when you purchase a self-hosted plan through Bluehost.
I highly recommend you to play around with different themes (there are both free and paid ones) to see which ones you the most. There are many themes out there and some themes allow you to customize the appearance of your blog more than others.
I also have a really affordable ebook called, The Treasure Map To Blogging Success in 30 Days, that teaches beginners exactly where to go and what to do once they’ve started their blogs with Bluehost. I am confident you’ll find this resource helpful! You can also check out to see what other students have said about this ebook:

Hi Simran
I see many people who start blogs in India and they are earning a great income from where they live. Starting a profitable blog does require hard work and consistent effort. It’s not something that will happen overnight but I am highly confident that anyone can become successful at it as long as they have a driven mindset and are motivated to learn. Let me know if you have any questions about starting your blog. I am always happy to help and answer any questions you have. 🙂
