@Marissa - I actually recommend both types of pins, overlay text on top of the image and images without words. Depending on niche and your specific blog audience, one will do better than the other. You can also check your Pinterest analytics to see what design works best for your account. Just check out to see which pin types get more clicks and pageviews.

I actually go into a lot of details about images and type of pins you should use depending on your niche and audience in my all-in-one Pinterest guide:

Feel free to let me know if you have any questions! I’m always happy try to help.

Hey hope you are well, I am wondering if you recommend only to use pins that are watermarked and have the blog name/content of post on the actual pin, I noticed on your boards you have mostly those and less of just "photo" content (like I saw you have pics for the slippers for panda gifts)

My blog is a lot of photo-based, and collage-d/art, fashion (Along with beauty and skincare) -->, so do you think it is ineffective for traffic if I do not include captions like you do for many of your pins? If I have images that I would like to upload that are on my blog too!

Hi Dawn!

I recommend setting it up as your blog name so people will recognize you and your brand in the long run.

If you already have a personal account, I recommend creating a business account from scratch. You can just leave personal as a personal account. It’s good to not mix personal and business imo. And yes, use your blog name for your email too.

Anything that’s associated with your blog, I highly recommend using your blog, brand or business name.

I hope this helps!

Hi Gemma

I looked at your profile and I can see it is perfectly good! I do see a “follow” next to your pin and compared it To other profiles - it looks set up. It is good to go as long as you followed the set up rich Pin steps.

I have a feeling it could been a wait time for this to take place.

Also, just because you’ve set up a rich pin it doesn’t mean you’ll drive a lot of traffic. It’s just the start and you should have rich pins set up anyway. But to really start driving traffic you’ll need to be patient with your account and create a solid pinning strategy along the way that works for you!

Let me know if that helps! :)

Hi Ling,

I purchased your treasure map to blogging success. I’ve found it very helpful and I am now on my way to getting my blog out there.
I am however a little stuck on the whole Pinterest thing. I am pinning and watching tutorials on how to get rich pins and how it will drive more traffic to your boards. I went to rich pin validator and successfully was approved for rich pins on Pinterest.

All the tutorials tell you that’s all you have to do as far as obtaining the rich pins but Ive since posted 2 or 3 pins and they aren’t showing up as most other posts that I am seeing so I am assuming that my pins are not showing up as RICH pins? I even used a different browser to see if that would make a difference but nothing. Its not showing my email on the right hand side which people can click straight into to follow.

How would I know if they are rich pins?

Thanks in advance for any helpful advice you can pass on.

I don’t recommend driving right into affiliate marketing just yet until you get at least some traffic first, or at least understand how it works to get traffic. You’ll need some pageviews before you can really test out affiliates. :)

Hi Ling,

Thanks for your continued support. I am slowly adding to my new blog. My next big step now I think is to drive traffic to my blog. Grateful for more feedback on affiliate marketing.

Kind regards,

In reply to <a href="https://www.blogsavvypanda.com/how-to-set-up-a-pinterest-business-account/comment-page-1/#comment-162">Kerrie</a>.

Hi Kerrie

I'm glad you find the information helpful!

It’s all a personal choice, so I wouldn't say there are pros or cons of either switching or creating a new Pinterest business account.

If you have a personal account and you already have Pinterest boards that are related to what you will be blogging about with all the related topics and pins saved, then you'll benefit from switching to a business account. Pinterest will most likely have recognized those boards you have. For example, if you already have a board called "crafts for summer", they know that this is a summer crafts board already, and if you plan to write content about that, you can save your pins in there. As long as you don't mind that your friends and family are following you and that they know this is your blog, then I would say you can switch to a business account from the personal.

However if you don't want to mix personal things with your blog then I recommend creating a new Pinterest business account. I personally like starting fresh, and I like having a personal account as a fun thing on the side, but again it is a personal choice and it differs for everyone.
I hope this helps you decide! :)
