@Marie Vachon-Fillion

It's great to hear from you, and I'm so glad to hear that you're working on your third blog (I think you mean the third blog post) focusing on gut health and fermentation! It's an interesting and important topic that I'm sure many people would love to learn more about. I'm also thrilled to hear that The Treasure Map To Blogging Sucess in 30 Days ebook has been helpful to you in your blogging journey so far.

Regarding your five blog post ideas, I love the idea of starting with a step-by-step guide on making sauerkraut at home (I love this stuff including kimchi too lol), as that will likely be very helpful to your readers who are new to fermentation.

Explaining how fermentation works is also an excellent idea, as it will help your readers understand the science behind the process (people do ask these questions on Google so that's a good one). And providing beginner recipes and tips for incorporating fermented foods into your daily diet is a great way to show your readers that fermentation can be a tasty and healthy addition to their lives.

My last tip is to use Pinterest to see what types of blog posts and keywords you see when you're looking for what to write about. I have a post about Pinterest traffic here: https://www.finsavvypanda.com/how-to-start-a-blog-on-pinterest/

I also have a full course that covers everything a beginner to advanced blogger needs to know about using Pinterest to skyrocket their traffic: https://www.finsavvypanda.com/the-golden-compass-to-pinterest-traffic/

Overall, I think you're off to a great start, and I'm excited to see where your blog takes you! Keep up the great work. I am excited to see you launch your blog!

@Nameera - I started with Bluehost powered by WordPress.

I have a tutorial on how you can start your blog using Bluehost here: https://www.blogsavvypanda.com/how-to-start-a-wordpress-blog-on-bluehost/

I also explain the differences in WordPress dot org vs. WordPress dot com here: https://www.finsavvypanda.com/how-to-start-a-blog/

Yes, there are differences and you'll want to make sure you know them before you start your blog the right way.

Let me know how it goes!

In reply to <a href="https://www.blogsavvypanda.com/blog-post-ideas/comment-page-1/#comment-68">Claudia</a>.

Hi Claudia!

I’m glad these blog post ideas make you feel so much better and at ease!

All those blog niches you listed are great and popular!

So, a reader of mine actually just asked me this exact same question because she said so many bloggers are saying so many different things about narrowing down vs bring broad. I said this to her...

I know listening to two different views can become very overwhelming and confusing. Here’s the thing - they’re both right in their own ways and it’s just a different view. It all depends on your personality, style and goals.

From my experience, both methods work and the key is finding your target audience.

I actually have two types of blogs. A more general lifestyle approach that writes about almost anything I want, and one that is more focussed on personal finance. Both generate a great income!

I also just started another blog this month that is focussed on blogging for this audience (my 3rd blog and the one you’re reading now).

From what I see, people who are brand new to blogging will likely learn more when they start a blog that is more general because they don’t even know what they want exactly (to begin with) and they don’t know what their audience wants!

Of course, the more focussed you are the better but the problem is a beginner may not truly understand what that means until they go through the experience to see what their readers are responding to. Also, it doesn’t mean that a lifestyle blog is not profitable! I see many lifestyle blogs that do very well and many narrowed down blogs that do very well.

I actually have a blog post here that will help you give you some insights:

https://www.blogsavvypanda.com/what-to-blog-about/

Let me know if this helps! :)

P.S. If you are the type of person who can’t stick to just one topic and you’re afraid of running out of ideas, or are you just like to experiment different niches, you’re better off starting off with a more general lifestyle blog and learn on the go. However, if you know that you want to talk about one topic and you are very passionate about it and you know that’s what you’re going to stick with, then start with a more narrowed down topic.

Hi Caren!

Great question! I actually just realized that I answered someone else who asked the same question!

How you write your blog post depends on what you’re going to be writing about. Some are short and some are long. There is no rule as to how long your blog post should be. I have blog posts that are as little as 600 words (it just doesn’t make sense for those to be any longer) and an occasional one as high as 5,000 words (because my readers asked me for more info). I would say the best is to have a minimum of 1,000 words. As long as your blog post answers the readers’ questions and they enjoy your content, then it’s good to go regardless of how many words are on the post.

Don’t think too much about the “word count.” The great thing about blogging is you can always go back and make changes.
